Every Business Begins With a Conversation
Right now, RefugeRoot is meeting with groups of courageous women across the commune of Kpomassè. We are listening to their experiences, learning about the challenges they face and discussing what they need to begin or strengthen their farming activities.
These meetings are about more than seeds, tools or money. They are about women being heard and included in the decisions that will shape their future.
Many already carry valuable agricultural knowledge. What they often lack is access to land, equipment, quality seeds, training, financing and reliable markets. With the right support, their experience can become a sustainable source of income.
From the Soil, a New Future
Behind every woman is a personal story: children to educate, meals to provide, difficult seasons to overcome and dreams that have been postponed for too long.
Starting a farming business can give her more than an income. It can give her greater independence, renewed confidence and the ability to make choices for her family.
We are not arriving with every answer. We are beginning by listening—because lasting solutions must be shaped with the women themselves.
When a woman is given the opportunity to cultivate her land, she can also cultivate dignity, stability and hope.
The meetings in Kpomassè are only the beginning. The next step is helping participating women access practical training, agricultural supplies and the resources required to turn their plans into working businesses.
