
Aysha Hazri serves as Volunteer Fundraising Specialist for RefugeRoot’s Mothers of Courage project. She brings a strong professional background in sustainable development, legal and policy research, project coordination, and donor-funded initiatives.
Aysha has worked with respected organizations such as Ernst & Young Sri Lanka, where she contributed to sustainable development research, technical and financial proposal development, market assessment reports, and social impact projects for international organizations such as UN, ADB, World Bank, MSF, WEF and High Commission of Canada. She has also supported both international and community-focused initiatives through Oxford Net Zero at the University of Oxford and the Global Youth Biodiversity Network by drafting policy initiatives for the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP). Additionally, she has hands-on experience working with grassroots communities through roles at the Centre for Equality and Justice, Environmental Foundation Limited, and through collaborations with ministries and government bodies.
Through this experience, Aysha brings strong research, proposal-writing, stakeholder engagement, and project support skills to RefugeRoot. Her contribution will help strengthen fundraising efforts for Mothers of Courage, a project dedicated to supporting widows through practical, dignified, and sustainable opportunities.
