Refund and Returns Policy

At RefugeRoot, many of the items made available through our platform are donated goods offered to support individuals and families in need. Because these items are provided free of charge, our refund and return policy is different from that of a regular online store.

1. No Refunds

Items listed on our website are offered at no cost. Since no payment is collected for these items, no refunds apply.

2. Donated Items Provided As Is

All donated items are offered as is, based on their available condition at the time of listing. While we do our best to describe items as accurately as possible, RefugeRoot cannot guarantee that every item will be free from minor wear, cosmetic imperfections, or signs of prior use.

3. No Returns or Exchanges

Because donated items are distributed free of charge and often in limited quantity, all pickups and deliveries are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges unless an exception is approved by RefugeRoot.

4. Item Availability

All items are subject to availability. Adding an item to a cart, request form, or reservation system does not always guarantee that it will remain available until pickup or confirmation. RefugeRoot reserves the right to cancel or reassign an item when necessary.

5. Inspection at Pickup

Recipients are encouraged to inspect the item at the time of pickup or delivery, where possible. By accepting the item, the recipient confirms that the item is accepted in its current condition.

6. Missed Pickups

If an arranged pickup is missed without notice, RefugeRoot may cancel the reservation and make the item available to another person or family in need.

7. Exceptional Situations

If there is a serious issue with an item that was not reasonably disclosed, RefugeRoot may review the situation on a case-by-case basis. Any decision to replace, reassign, or recover an item remains at the discretion of the Foundation.

8. Monetary Donations

Monetary donations made to support RefugeRoot’s mission are generally non-refundable, except in cases of duplicate transaction or technical error. If you believe a donation was processed incorrectly, please contact us as soon as possible.
