Alda Kochoedo serves as Project Controller for RefugeRoot’s projects in Benin and Togo, ensuring strong financial stewardship, clear reporting, and disciplined execution so resources reach children and families with maximum impact. Her work is grounded in the reality that child vulnerability remains urgent: in Benin, official child-protection reporting counted 1,619 children “in the street” received by support services in 2020 (and 341 children “of the street”). In Togo, a national evaluation commissioned by the Ministry in charge of child protection estimated about 6,080 vulnerable children being cared for through residential and non-residential centres. Alda’s calling is to help reduce these numbers through rigorous accountability—paired with deep compassion for every child who needs safety, dignity, and a place to call home.
